Welcome to SY 2022-2023! |
Dear Parents and Guardians:
Welcome to a new school year! I hope you have had a relaxing summer and that your are refreshed and ready to learn. My name is Helen Mason and I am a Language Arts teacher at Paradise Honors High School. This is my tenth year at Paradise and I couldn't ask for a better place to teach. This year, I teach English 11, English 11 Honors, and Creative Writing 1.
I am very excited to be here and cannot wait to get to know you and your family. I’m expecting that my class will be a great opportunity for the students to boost their reading and writing skills, consider their world in a new way, and to have some fun while doing it.
In class, you will receive an overview of my policies, procedures, and expectations. This summary also includes information on what they can expect in terms of homework, projects, class work and, of course, grading. I hope you will look it over and let me know if you or your family needs any clarification.
The beginning of the year can be tough as they will receive so much information and I do not want anyone to feel overwhelmed. I will revisit this information periodically when needed. Do not worry! You should place all the information I give you in your binders for future reference.
A few points that I would like to highlight:
Building solid communication with both my students and you is very important to our success and I hope that you will keep me up to date if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s performance in my class. If you need anything as the year progresses, please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you have not already done so, I hope you will stop in to meet me in room B124 so I can start learning faces and names.
Here’s to an exciting new year!
